Luxe Home · Disney + coast
Five days: Disneyland to the beach
Group the Anaheim days together, then slow down on the coast.
Families choosing between a single base and one move to Huntington Beach.
Avoid changing homes just for one beach afternoon; the move needs to earn its packing time.
Anaheim arrival → Disney → local reset → Huntington Beach → easy finish
Book or check first: Choose the Disney date first. If using two homes, confirm both checkout and check-in times and where luggage will go between them.
Your day-by-day plan
These are flexible blocks, not timed reservations. Directions use public attraction locations; check the journey from your actual accommodation.
Day 1Anaheim arrival
- Afternoon
Settle in and prepare
Keep this as a travel day. Arrange breakfast, the park bag and transport for tomorrow.
Day 2Disneyland day
- Main outing
One park-focused day
Match admission and reservations, choose the group’s priorities and keep the late evening optional.
Day 3A reset or second park day
- Flexible day
Choose by your original ticket plan
Use this for home time and a small local outing. If a second Disney park is essential, reserve for it and accept a more active trip.
Day 4Move once, or take a beach day trip
- Morning
Protect the transition
If changing bases, arrange luggage and avoid plans that depend on early check-in. If staying in Anaheim, check the full return journey before setting a beach finish time.
- Afternoon
Huntington City Beach and pier
Pick one stretch of beach and leave time to rinse and eat before the next drive.
Day 5A slower finish
- Morning
Breakfast and a short optional walk
Use the final day for the coast if departure allows. Keep packing and the airport journey ahead of an extra attraction.
Weather & alternatives
Swap the flexible blocks when booking terms allow. Keep Disney reservation dates and both homes’ arrival and departure times fixed unless changes are confirmed.
Walking, stairs & access
Choose the home strategy around the whole group. A base change brings lifting and unpacking; a single base adds repeated transport.
What to budget for
Compare the full five-night quote for each strategy, including any duplicate cleaning charges, transport and parking. Do not compare only the displayed nightly rates.
Is one base or two better?
One base reduces packing. Two bases may suit a trip with several coastal blocks. Compare actual routes from the shortlisted homes, total fees and luggage logistics before deciding.

- Disneyland: admission and reservations ↗Match a valid ticket with a park reservation for the date and park.
- Disneyland: events calendar ↗Check event nights and the operating calendar for your dates.
- Visit Huntington Beach: City Beach ↗Beach facilities and visitor orientation.
- Visit Huntington Beach: beach accessibility ↗Review access mats, wheelchairs and facilities by beach.
Find a home for this route
Compare the actual sleeping layout, stairs, parking and complete stay price. Confirm exact routes and any amenities with the host.
For five days split between Disneyland and Huntington Beach, one base reduces packing and check-in work, while two bases can reduce repeated journeys once the beach part begins. Choose by the number of park days, how your children handle transfers and whether the change of accommodation leaves a useful amount of time in each place.
Decide whether a move buys useful time
Compare three nights in Anaheim plus two at Surf City with five nights at one base. Count the time to pack, vacate, drive, wait for the next check-in and unpack. A split stay works best when the second base changes the rhythm to beach days; it is less useful if you continue driving back for more park days. Confirm each Airbnb check-in and checkout separately.

Compare the hidden work in each option
The question is not simply which home looks closer on a map. Count early departures, return trips, packing, groceries and the gap between check-out and the next check-in.
| Choice | Works well when | Main trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| One Anaheim base | Disneyland is the main purpose and the beach is one outing | A separate coastal day with its full journey |
| One beach-area base | Beach time is central and Disney is a limited part of the trip | Longer or more variable park-day travel |
| Two bases | You want meaningful time in both areas | Packing and a transfer day |
A five-day plan with two bases
Treat this as a suggested sequence, then adjust it to your actual flights and booked nights. Confirm tickets and reservations before attaching a particular park to a particular day.
| Day | Main plan | Keep flexible |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Arrive in Anaheim, groceries and an easy evening | Any outing before check-in |
| 2 | Disneyland family day | The evening return time |
| 3 | A second park day or a rest day | An extra attraction |
| 4 | Pack, check out and transfer to Huntington Beach | Beach time until after settling in |
| 5 | One beach outing and pier-area meal | Departure-day activities |
If you want a full fifth day, book the departure accordingly. A morning flight means Day 5 is a travel day, not a usable beach day.
A five-day plan with one base
Keep the same arrival and park blocks, then use one later day for Huntington Beach and another for rest or a short local activity. Check the full route at the time you plan to travel, including beach parking and the return journey. Avoid pairing the beach with a fixed late dinner far away.
For toddlers, decide whether a beach-day nap will happen during travel, at the accommodation or not reliably at all. If a home nap is essential, a shorter outing may fit better. The Anaheim transport guide explains why drive time alone is not enough.

Budget for moving homes
Two bookings may have two sets of cleaning charges or different minimum stays. Compare final quotes, not nightly rates. Add time for checkout tasks, transporting groceries and managing luggage before the next home becomes available.
Keep essentials and a change of clothes in a separate transfer bag. Do not leave temperature-sensitive food or important belongings in a hot car while extending the transfer into a long attraction visit.
Match each home to its part of the trip
For the Anaheim portion, review AN5 and Bright Anaheim Escape. For a Huntington Beach stay, compare Surf City and the Steps to Beach home. Confirm current occupancy, parking, bed layout and stairs for each booking.
Use the Anaheim hub and Huntington Beach hub to compare the options. Our beach weekend itinerary gives the coastal days a slower rhythm after the theme parks.
A simple deciding question
Will moving homes remove more repeated travel than it adds in packing and check-in work? If not, keep one base and make the beach a carefully planned outing. If you have enough nights to settle comfortably in both places, the split stay can give each part of the holiday its own pace.
